Samedi 13 septembre
Visite de trois Châteaux du Désert bâtis par les califes omeyyades vers le VII et VIIIe siècles.
Amman, l’ancienne Philadelphie romaine : la citadelle, son musée, vue sur l'amphithéâtre.
Nuitée à l'hôtel Amman West.
Dimanche 14 septembre
Le Mont Nébo et le mémorial de Moïse, vue sur la terre promise.
Visite d'un atelier de fabrication de mosaïques.
Madaba, visite de l’église Saint Georges qui contient la plus vieille carte connue de la terre sainte en mosaïque.
Déjeuner au bord de la Mer Morte et baignade
La visite de la forteresse de Renaud de Chatillon à Kerak était prévue cet après-midi là, mais nous avons du accompagner un des voyageurs qui a eu un malaise dans un hopital et le programme de cet après-midi a été de ce fait totalement chamboulé. Après quelques heures d'hospitalisation et d'examens, ce monsieur a été transporté avec sa famille sur Amman où il est resté en observation avant d'être rapatrié le vendredi suivant en France. Nous avons donc continué le voyage à 23.

Lundi 15 septembre
Journée entière de visite dans le site de Pétra, l’antique cité nabatéenne creusée dans la roche rose et violette : le Siq, la Khazneh, les tombeaux royaux, Al Deir (le Monastère).

Mardi 16 septembre
Visite du Petit Pétra
Vues panoramiques sur le site de Petra et le Wadi Araba
Promenade de 3h en 4/4 dans le désert du Wadi Rum où a vécu Lawrence d’Arabie ; thé chez les bédouins. Achat de thé et de bijoux (collier en os de dromadaire).
Nuitée à l'hôtel Amman West.
Mercredi 17 septembre
Ajlun, le château Arabat
Jerash, la Pompéi du Moyen Orient, l’arc de triomphe d’Adrien, l’hippodrome, le temple d’Artémis, le forum.
Passage de la frontière syrienne jordano-syrienne en milieu d'après-midi.

Journée d'excursion au Liban avec notre guide syrien et Jean-Claude, un guide local.
Le site archéologique de Balbek et son musée.
Visite des caves de Ksara et dégustation de vin libanais.
Retour sur Damas et nuitée à l'hôtel Semiramis.
Vendredi 26 septembre
vol de retour vers la France
Un magnifique voyage, de superbes sites, un temps splendide et chaud pendant les 3/4 de notre périple au Moyen Orient.
Ce circuit a été réalisé avec l'agence de voyages Tourmonde et le correspondant local (en Jordanie, Syrie et au Liban) : Adonis Travel.
Nos photos ont été prises avec un reflex Olympus E510 (objectifs 40-150mm et 14-42mm), les vidéos avec notre petit caméscope Canon MD-111 qui n'est pas HD.

Saturday 13
Visit of three desert castle built by the Umayyad caliphs at the seventh and eighth centuries.
Amman, the former Philadelphia, the Roman citadel, the museum, overlooking the amphitheater.
Stay at the Amman West Hotel.
Sunday 14
Mount Nébo and the memorial of Moses overlooking the promised land.
Visit of a workshop producing mosaics.
Madaba, visit of Saint Georges church which contains the oldest mosaic known map of the Holy Land.
Lunch beside the Dead Sea and swimming.
The visit of the fortress of Renaud de Chatillon in Kerak was scheduled that afternoon, but we had to take a passenger who was sick in a hospital and the program this afternoon was so totally modified. After a few hours of hospitalization and examinations, this gentleman was transported with his family to Amman where he remained under observation before being repatriated on the following Friday in France. So we continued the journey only 23 tourists.
